There are books that make you think, books that make you do and books that make you feel.
How about a unique violin learning series that’s a mix of all three.
What we’ve created is a mash-up of classical and contemporary, kind of like Mozart meets Moby, or Beethoven meets Beyoncé.
Our three books chart an entertaining and educational journey for the beginner violinist. Giving not just what the beginner wants, but something much better.
Along for the ride are the String Friends together with a colourful and quirky cast of characters. They offer helpful and easy-to-follow tips for talent to triumph and persistence to prevail.
Learning anything new is never as easy as paint-by-numbers. Our books attempt to open all the doors to the life enriching joy of music.
VIOLIN STARTERS
Violin Starters is the entree to our beginner violin tutor smorgasbord. Many of the compositions are original, while others are beloved traditional pieces from here, there and everywhere.
Sharing the learning load with the beginner violinist are The String Friends. Georgia, Dexter, Annie and Eddie are the curators and narrators throughout the series. They highlight the importance of correct violin positioning, basic note and music symbol reading and building playing confidence through repetition.
VIOLIN MASTERS 1
Violin Masters 1 introduces more colour onto the violin learning canvas. It digs deeper into playing technique, explores more notes and further develops the musical ear.
The String Friends return but are no longer the new kids on the block. Older and musically smarter they are now the seven Note Friends.
Bowing technique moves from a beginner hold to a regular bow hold, contributing to a greater variety of dynamic control.
VIOLIN MASTERS 2
If Violin Starters was laying the foundations and Violin Masters 1 building the performance space, then this book gets busy with the decorating!
On board are support crew the Note Friends, now identified by their music alphabet note name.
This is the third and final book of our beginner violin series at The Violin Club.
This doesn’t mean however that the learning ever stops. Our aim with the series is for players to engage and embrace the wonderful world of music and to enjoy every amazing moment of their own musical journey (well, most of them!)
